So fill us, Lord,
with your grace
and your love,
that the outward image
we show to the world
becomes a true reflection
of an inner reality;
of a life so infused
with your Spirit,
and so in tune
with our kingdom,
that we point to you
in all we are,
and say,
and do.

Keep us alert
and attentive, Lord,
to your Spirit,
to your guidance,
to your calling,
to your will.
Keep us
from becoming
so caught up
in our own plans,
priorities, purposes,
and prejudices,
that we fail to be
awake to yours,
and miss your activity
in and among us.

Remind us, Lord, that as we strive
for the revealing of your kingdom
and the furthering of your mission,
we do not strive alone.
Your angels strive with us and for us,
bringing your love, light and life to bear
in arenas we cannot see;
keep us alert to their help.

Keep us attentive, Lord,
to your guidance and calling;
amidst the clamour of daily life
and the busyness of our minds,
help us tune our hearts
to your still, small voice,
that we may know
what you would have us do.
Grant us also the faith
to follow where you lead.

Keep us Lord,
from falling prey
to the temptation
to put our trust
in the structures
and edifices
we build;
turn our focus instead
onto the building
you do with us,
your living stones.
Mould us, shape us,
animate and inspire us,
that we may
reveal your love
to all.

In an age, Lord,
when image is king,
keep our focus
on the reality
beneath the surface.
Help us look
not to outward
appearance,
but to inward truth.
Infuse our minds
and hearts
with your love,
that we may see
as you see,
and delight
in responding
generously
to you.

So fill us, Lord,
with your Spirit
that we may
truly love you
with all that we are.
Let your love
inform and inspire
our thinking and feeling,
our being and doing,
that our whole lives,
inside and out,
may honour you,
and your love
overflow from us
to bless others.

in your own image;
encourage us
to open ourselves to you
that you may mould our lives
to reveal more of that image.
Nurture and guide us,
form and fashion us,
that your love,
your light, your life

that we may approach life
from the perspective
of your kingdom.
Raise our sights
from the horizons
of our own lives,
that we may know
your big picture
and rejoice in the hope
you set before us.
May your love
be the lens
of our perception.

that we might
truly be the people
you have made us to be;
fill us with your grace,
that we might
share your desire
for justice and mercy,
integrity and truth,
and that in your strength
we may live out

and our understanding, Lord,
that through the words we read
and the words we share,
and through your word to us
in the still, small voice of your Spirit,
we may be drawn to you, the living Word

see clearly
what is of you
and what is not.
Give us
such a measure
of your grace,
as to make clear
what follows the grain
of your kingdom

not only in the words
we offer you,
but in the words
we speak
to one another;

services we hold
to honour you,

as king of our lives;
fill us with joy
as we welcome you
day by day
to call us, guide us,

Keep us true to you,
that we may not fall away
when you do not follow our will,

Keep us alert, Lord,
to those things
that draw us away
or distract us
from following you;
open the eyes and ears
of our hearts and souls,
that we may be aware of,
and drawn to,
the things of your kingdom.
May your holy angels
guard and defend us
this and every day.

a desire and a longing
for your healing in our lives;
not the mere ‘fixing’
of what some consider
‘broken’ about us,
but your deep healing
in our relationship with you
and with others,
that we may know
your peace, your love,
to the core of our being.

Instil in us, Lord,
an understanding
of the true nature
of greatness;
may we find fulfilment
not in status or position
but in the ways in which
we honour one another
by word and action.
You who are greatest
became servant of all;
may we show that love
in our lives.

Draw our gaze, Lord,
to your Holy Cross,
to the overwhelming
love for us
which held you there
as you bore our iniquities
and carried our sin.
Help us,
in all we are, say and do,
to lift high your Cross
that all may be drawn
to you, to your love,
to new life in you.

Fill us, Lord,
with a desire
for your kingdom
and a yearning
to follow you
ever more nearly
day by day.
Open our hearts
to your love
and give us
the courage and faith
to let you reveal to us
those things
which hold us back
from truly and fully
being your disciples.

in our relationships,
to fidelity and faithfulness,
to mutuality and honour
for one another,
that our lives
may reflect your love.
Open our hearts
to receive that love
with awe and wonder,
joy and delight,

from turning our
opinions and
perspectives
into a boundary
to keep others out,
to deny a welcome
into the community
of your love;
rather may we rejoice in
the free access you offer
to the wellspring
of your grace,

to drink from it.

in our hearts
and in our lives, Lord,
that we may know
how to be still,
how to listen attentively
for your word to us,
for the nudging
of your Spirit.
May our prayers
be informed
by that listening,
our actions
be true to you,
blessing
the world
around us.

to spend time
apart with you:
to take those moments
that today affords us;
to set aside time for you
as we plan our days;
to hear your call
and your longing
to have us simply ‘be’
in your presence,
that you may

In your great love, Lord,
you bring to birth
in your kingdom
new possibilities,
new hope,
new life,
even in the face
of darkness,
despair,
and death.
May we be
ready today
to give our ‘yes’
to your working
in us and
through us,
to bring
your love
and life

Draw us, Lord,
towards the
mountain top,
that we may
experience your glory
in the dazzling glimpses
we can bear;
but send us also
onward in mission,
into the valleys
and plains
of daily life,
that we may

of your love

that our lives
may proclaim,

who we say that you are:
the Christ, the Son of God.

and more complex
than we can see
from our perspective;

to reduce that complexity
to the simplicity we find easy,

make us aware
of your presence,
of your knocking at our door,
yearning to be welcomed,
longing to infuse our being
with your love and life.
Give us joy
in opening our lives to you,
hunger for the nourishment you bring,
passion for your kingdom.

Lord,
when we offer you
the little that we have,
your blessing returns it to us
multiplied many times,
that we may in turn bless others.
As we offer you
our desire for your kingdom,

equity, peace,
