Work in us, Lord,
and work on us,
that we may be moulded
into the disciples
you call us to be;
so infuse and inspire us
by the work of
your Spirit within us,
that we are transformed
from the inside out,
that our lives become
translucent to your love,
shining in us.

Keep us ever mindful, Lord,
that in trying to follow you,
in seeking to respond
to your call to discipleship
and to the challenge
of living out your love,
we do so not just
in our own strength
but as members of your family,
sisters and brothers
united in your love.

You offer yourself to us, Lord,
in the little form of bread;
in this wonderful sacrament,
we meet the fullness
of your presence.
Grant that as
we share together
in the one bread,
so we may
know ourselves
to be one body,
a living temple
built together
to your glory.

keep us faithful in prayer,
persistent in prayer,
open in prayer;
as we pray, remind us
that we are children of one Father,
sisters and brothers together.
Inspire us to pray
for the coming
of your kingdom,
not our own;
so may we
follow your will,

to exercise our gifts and talents
in your service, for your mission,
to reveal and share your love.

love for you, love for neighbour,
and proper love for ourselves.
Give us eyes to see as you see,
that we may discern

bound together by love so perfect
that all are one and one is all;
so infuse and infect us with your love

not trying to define you,

by the gift of your Spirit,

not in worldly status or power,
but in embracing your love for us,

to stay close to you in prayer;
to follow as you lead us in our faith;
to let go of all that holds us back

that we answer for ourselves

the things we say,
the choices we make

when you ask of us easy things,
like seeking the wellbeing
of those who seek ours;
but you also ask of us hard things,
for you ask us to seek
the wellbeing of all,

Expand our capacity

of life, Lord,
help us both
to be aware of
and to recognise
your presence with us;

in our busyness

rules before righteousness,
policies before people.
Fix our attention
and our ambition
on the justice of your kingdom,
the priorities of your heart.

of your image,
met in every person
we encounter;

not because we are perfect,
for we are not;
not to demand perfection,
for we cannot earn it;
but to journey with us
on your way of life, of healing,
of wholeness, of peace.
