Help us, Lord,
to recognise the things
that make for true peace:
not the world’s peace,
the Pax Romana
that squashes argument
by the force of might
and imposes itself
on the vulnerable,
but the Pax Christi
that floods our lives
with justice, mercy,
peace and love.
