Steer us away, Lord,
from a path on which
our lives are ensnared
by the enticements
of selfish gain and
selfish ambition,
at the expense
of everyone else.
Guide us rather
on the path of peace,
of seeking
the mutual wellbeing
of the common good,
of living your love.
