Bless us, Lord,
as your disciples,
and as your church,
that we may bear
the harvest of your love.
Take from us all desire
to serve ourselves
at the expense of others;
give us your heart
for the wellbeing of all,
that we may bear your fruit
of forgiveness and peace.

Lord, as we seek your way,
let us never be so hidebound
by the letter of your commandments,
or held fast by the rigidity of our rules,
that we lose sight of the spirit
of your law of grace.
Grant that our lives
may be led by your love,
and our words by your wisdom.

to know your presence,
your working in us and among us.
Give us courage and confidence
to call out to you and call upon you
for your peace and healing,
for your forgiveness and love,

but rather the greatness
that comes with serving you.
Lead us to the greatness
of service, of forgiveness,

Grant at our legacy in the world,

to your mission

of status, power, possessions,

to the way of your love;

in your wisdom, Living Word;
in the gift of your Gospel,
in the leading of your love,
in the call of your kingdom.
Stir our souls to yearn for your grace,

Grant us, Lord, to join today
with the innumerable host
who surround you with
their prayers and praises,
sustained by your life and love.
Keep us from all that
diverts our faithfulness
and draws us away from you.
Inspire us to shine
the light of your love,
for all.

Lord, help us to see that our value,
and the value of every human being,
lies not in the status we achieve,
or the possessions we have,
or the power we wield,
or the heritage which we bear,
but in our being made in your image,
cherished in the fulness of your love.

defend us, Lord,
from all that seeks
to divert or distract
our following of your way;
from the propaganda and politics
of division and hatred,
from all that promotes self
at the expense of others.
Fill us instead with your love,
and help us to share it.

your presence with us,
and honour
the experiences
of your grace
that you give us;
but let us not relax
into the experience
of the mountain top
when you call us
to go again with you
on the way of your mission,

of our hearts, Lord.
Open the eyes
of our understanding of your will
for our lives and for the world.
Open the eyes of our compassion
that we may love others
as you love them and us.
Open our eyes as disciples,
that we may see your way,

to experience the generosity
of your love for us;
not only in what you do for us
day by day,
and the peace you bring us
as we walk with you,
but in the glory of your cross,
as you open your arms wide,
as if saying
“How much do I love you?

is so deep as to be unfathomable;
help us to immerse our lives
in the beauty of that love,

Remind us that you come

Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
the way of your being.
Fill our hearts with your love;

in your eyes.
Keep us from the temptation
to seek our value
