Keep us, Lord,
from pretending
that our discipleship
is a matter simply
of keeping the rules,
doing our duty,
ticking the boxes
on a heavenly appraisal form.
Inspire us instead to live
from the motivation of love,
to offer all that we are
in revealing your kingdom.
