Fill us with a desire, Lord,
to gain approval;
but let us seek approval
not in the eyes of others,
but in your eyes of love.
Keep us ready
to follow your command
to love our neighbour,
whether friend or stranger;
inspire us to seek
justice, mercy and peace
for all.
