Give us a passion, Lord,
for our prayer life,
a hunger for the opportunity
to open our hearts to you,
to hear your words
of comfort
and of challenge,
of promise
and of prompting.
Fill us with desire
to do your will,
to live out
for others
the love
you live
for us.

truly to be your body;
one people
bound together
in your love,
against which
no division can stand.
Help us not merely
to bear with one another,

the flourishing

you set us free
from sin and death
that we might live for you,
and live out your love.
Help us to know also
our freedom
from divisions
and exclusion,
that we may be
one in you;
not uniform,
but harmonious

adopted us,
grafted us
into your kingdom
by the power
of your cross
and resurrection.
Keep us faithful
to the love

even death

in your armour
of truth, righteousness,
peace and faith;
crown us with salvation

your disciples in pairs
to go to the people and places
to which you sent them.

like Mark, Barnabas and Saul,
follow your call
to be partners in your gospel

you welcomed us
into an inheritance
of new and eternal life.
In baptism
you gave us new birth,
and adopted us
as children
of your covenant,
heirs of your promise.
Help us to share
the riches
we have received,

may know

may we find
excitement and peace.
Excitement of our souls
by the new life
that gushes from
the empty tomb,
and peace
in our hearts and minds
from your promise
that nothing,
not even death,
can cut us off
from your

in the life of your kingdom,
the new life of Easter.
May the power, the joy,
the wonder and the glory
of your Resurrection
infuse and animate our lives,

in your word,

with your body and blood,
so often we are impatient
that things are not going
as we think they should.
Teach us to seek
your will, not our own,

with which we praise you
that matter,
