As we go ahead
into the future,
help us always to point,
in our words, ways,
policies and practices,
to you, to your love,
to your promise
of hope for all.

and confidence, Lord,
to speak your truth to all,
high and low,
but give us also
the wisdom and grace
to know it for ourselves;
grow in us the character
and the calling
to live it for one another,
as we carry
your love for the world
into all we are.

Lord, in your
incarnation, teaching,
death and resurrection,
in the gift of your Spirit,
in your calling upon us,
you reveal the love that you are,
the light that you bring,
the life that you offer.
May we show your love,
shine your light
and share your life

and desires, Lord,
on your way,
on your kingdom.
Fix our wills on your call
to love one another,
especially those
who are least
in the world’s eyes;
to seek always
to nurture not to harm,

to fix our hearts
on the wellbeing of others,
not just ourselves;
to see as neighbour
those we would call strangers;
to embrace your way
instead of serving only self.
Help us to be
catalysts of your kingdom
in the world, loving joyfully.

bring to birth in us a faith
that is strong, sure and stable;
a faith that even amidst
controversy, crisis, or conflict,
stays true to your love,

Born not in a palace
among those the world

Encourage us

with the grace and love
you show to us,

for those we find deserving
and those we do not;

as stewards of your creation,

through this life, Lord,
in all the comings and goings
of resources, relationships,
possibilities, prospects,
community, conflict,

to make our own choices,
and responsibility
to make them well;
give us the wisdom
to harness our power
and our preferences
to pursue that which is good,
that which works

that we are one people,
one family in your love;
despite our physical
or cultural distances,
despite our differences
or division.
Instil in us a sense of
connection and community,
that we may seek fellowship,

our thinking and speaking,
our outlook and our openness,
with your love and grace.
In all the dialogue, debate,

width and height of your love

as a protector of those
downtrodden by the greed of others,
mistreated by the selfishness of others,
held captive by the injustices of the world.
Inspire us, like him, to be working in your love,
