Lord, keep us
true to you;
your Gospel,
your kingdom,
your love.
Let us not
be distracted
by the rhetoric,
the ‘haughty words
and blasphemies’,
of those who
serve themselves
and seek power
for its own sake.
Keep our focus
on the common good,
on the blessing of all.
