‘Over against’, Lord.
We so often
define ourselves
over against others:
better or worse,
stronger or weaker,
pro or anti,
in or out.
Where division
and distinction
are the watchwords,
bring relationship
and reconciliation,
unity and peace,
that we may be
your body.
