with the life of your kingdom,
a living hope
bursting even through death
and revealing
your unshakeable promise
of love, life and light
into which you welcome us

this inheritance

to hold before you
our hopes and fears,

‘in the midst of life,
we are in death’;
renew our faith and our joy

the selfishness
and sinfulness
of humanity
led to death,
and our exile
from the garden
in shame.
At Easter,
your selfless
and sinless
bearing of our sins
led to new life,
and our mission
to go from that garden
in your love,

Your love and your life, Lord,
bursting from the empty tomb,
meets us day by day
in our pilgrimage through this life,
and greets us at its end to lead us
into the fullness of your kingdom.
