Fill our minds
and our hearts, Lord,
with your wisdom,
that our desires
and our direction
may be set
by the true north
of your love.
Give us the strength
to withstand
the temptations
of all that would
divert us
from the ways
of your kingdom;
crown us
with new life.

Whether our life’s journey
takes us through times
that feel like
lush pastures
or dry desert,
smooth plains
or rocky wilderness,
reassure us always, Lord,
of your presence with us,
keep us attentive
to your guidance for us,
and help us to know
your peace within us.

the faith and trust
to kneel before you
in humility and love,
knowing that our life
is from you and in you.
Strengthen our spirits
by your dwelling within us;
bring us to perceive
the inexhaustibility
of your love for us,
that we may know

to become
true servants
of your gospel,
true ambassadors
of your kingdom;
give us clarity
to know
what you call us
to do and to be
as your disciples.
Guide us
in our direction,
our interactions,
and our decisions;
may all be infused

you welcome us,
we who were
strangers and aliens,
into the fold of your kingdom,
and bind us together
as one people,
a living temple to your glory.

with your prayer
for your disciples,

of your kingdom;
you enfold us in your grace

from our own propensity

to share with others
the love we receive from you,
the life we enjoy in you.
Inspire our decisions
and guide our journeys;

the people we encounter

with the qualities
of your kingdom.
Instil them
within our hearts,
that we may be ready
to meet what life brings us,
in a spirit of Christlikeness:
standing for truth,

the egotism
that the world
encourages
and nurture in us
the humility
that your kingdom

Give us a desire

not for selfish gain,

to follow where you lead,

of Mary Magdalene
to share the news
of your resurrection,
the curiosity

our souls,
our hearts,

our whole lives,
with the new life
your resurrection reveals.
Like yeast in the dough,
may your love
so permeate our being,
that the life
of your kingdom
impacts, informs
and influences

are the resurrection
and the life.
Call us out
from those things
which cause our spirit
to wither and die;
free us from
the bonds of sin,
from captivity
to that which
is not nurturing
to our souls.
Unbind us;
wrap us instead
in your life, light
and love.

Fill our hearts, Lord,
with faith and fortitude,
courage and confidence,
that in every situation of life
we may turn to you,
call upon you,
and find ourselves
embraced by your love.
Enfold all who are
excluded, marginalised,
oppressed or ignored
in that same love.

your great love
overwhelms
and overcomes
anything that may stand
between us and you,
even death itself.
In the power
of your resurrection,
death is defeated
as love prevails.
May we live each day
in the light of that love,
sharing new life
in all that we are.

Mourning becomes dancing,
fear is overcome by love,
despondency by hope,
confusion by revelation,

the violence and hatred
which can kill even
the author of life;
we lament that
such sinfulness
is rampant
in our world today.
Inspire us, we pray,
to seek peace not division,
harmony not discord,
healing not hurt.
Bring us life;
for today,

you open your arms

and all the world,
to gather all people to you;

in our relationship with you,

to acknowledge you

with ourselves
that we see others
only in terms of
what they can do
for us.

of compassion
