Fill us with your grace, Lord,
that our hearts, our minds, our lives
may remain open to your leading,
ready to hear and follow your call.
Show us the opportunities we have
to share your love with others,
to proclaim your gospel to others,
to announce your kingdom.

imagining that you are constrained

and like Moses
we would rather flee from them,
make us ready to meet with you,
to hear your call and to do your will,
that we may lead one another
on your pilgrim path of discipleship
and share your grace with all.

a faith like Abraham’s,
who believed your promise
even though it seemed impossible,
and so was ready
to journey forth with you.
Grant us a faith like Joseph’s,
who believed you
even when life was bleak,
and so was readied

give us delight
at your knowing us
from before we were even
knit together
in our mothers’ wombs,
and the assurance
of your loving us
from before time itself,
that we may follow
wherever you lead,

by what we think others
past or present
would expect of us;
free us to be your disciples,

not just what we have
but all that we are,
to your service and

Patience
as we live in the ‘now but not yet’
of your kingdom;
