with us, Lord, that we may
open our hearts and minds to you,
and encounter your healing love,
drawing together
the threads of who we are

the person you made us to be,
held in your grace and peace,
living your love for all.

to the love you seek to pour into us,
and channel through our lives,
that we may live a faith
that offers energy
and refreshment to the world,
like cool water,
that offers soothing and healing,
like hot water.
Let our faith never be lukewarm.

We yearn, Lord,
to navigate life
through calm waters,
and yet reality
is often more unsettled
than we would choose.
When the storms of life
assault and assail us,
reassure us about
your presence with us,
your grace and power
to settle our souls,
your gift of peace.

Inspire us, Lord,
by your love working in us,
to shine your light into the world
by all that we say, do and are,
that your grace, peace,
justice, mercy and welcome
may be shown to, and known by,
all those with whom we have to do,
and the seeds of your kingdom grow.

to sow your seed
of love, mercy,
justice, and peace
in the lives of those around us;
may we scatter that seed
liberally and generously, for all.
Help us also to cultivate
the ground of its growth,
as we foster communities
with your love at heart.

bound together
in your love for all people,

that trusts in your love,

in the abundance of your love,
in the joy of your kingdom.
Keep our focus on your way,
help us not to turn in on ourselves
and be consumed
by greed, status,
jealousy, and selfishness.

to the wisdom and guidance
of your Holy Spirit,
as you encourage us and steer us
in the way you call us to follow.
May the words of our mouths,

Fill up our faith, Lord,
that in our openness
to receiving your love,
we may be people
who show it and share it

about each person we meet:
not the value or lack of
possessions or wealth,

position or status,

of your image in them,

you could require us
to live up to your standard;
but we are incapable of reaching it.
Instead, in your love
you are patient and forgiving;
you give us room to grow.
Nurture that growth in us;
turn our hearts
onto your way
of peace, of love.

Refresh in us, Lord,
day by day and hour by hour,
our awareness of your presence,
of your dwelling in us and among us.
As we navigate
the opportunities and challenges,
the possibilities and temptations of life,
help us hear and follow your voice,

a robustness in our
relationship with you,
a resilience in our faith
and our faithfulness

Nourish us in your love

of your call to live out our discipleship,

but hurts our being.
Help us instead to seek
goodness, wisdom,

Fit us for your kingdom;

of compassion
