Protect us, Lord,
from the temptation
to reduce your word
to mere words,
to constrain your teaching
to mere rules.
So infuse us with your Spirit,
who inspired
the prophets and teachers of old,
that we may reveal your kingdom
in all that we are,
by the love we show.
