Give us, Lord,
the faith,
the strength,
the courage
to love;
to love not only those
whom we perceive
as allies,
as neighbours,
as friends,
but to love also
those who seem other
or opposed.
May we know ourselves
truly to be your disciples
by loving even
our enemies.
