Assist us, Lord,
to embrace the gifts
of compassion
and self-control.
Keep us always ready
to look for and work
for the wellbeing
of our neighbours,
and of all people;
hold us back from
focusing on our own
image, greed or status.
May our ego
never trump
your love.
