Take from our hearts, Lord Jesus,
any obsession with worldly gain:
the pursuit of more and more wealth,
the preoccupation with our image,
the jealous seeking of power.
Fill our hearts instead
with a yearning for your kingdom,
for a life lived in following your way.

Fill our hearts with joy, Lord Jesus,
at your presence
within us and among us,
at the love you pour into our lives,
and the peace with which you fill us.
Let us find our wealth
in the things of your kingdom,
that we may serve not self but others,
as we worship you.

May our motivation, Lord Jesus,
ever be the will of the Father
and the wisdom of the Holy Spirit;
let nothing else but your love,
the yeast of your kingdom,
be our inspiration.
May we value all people
and all creation as you do;
make us good stewards
of your gifts.

Inspire in us, Lord Jesus,
the faith and fortitude,
the courage and constancy,
to reveal you to others
in all situations
by our words and our ways,
by our actions and our attitudes.
Give us courage
to speak and to show
the truth of your love
to power and to pauper.

Work in us, Lord Jesus,
by the gift of your Holy Spirit,
that our inner life,
our motivations and passions,
our desires and dreams,
may be one with yours.
May the outward expression
of our discipleship
reflect an inner reality
of love for you
and for our neighbour.

Grant us, Lord Jesus,
ears to hear your wisdom,
and eyes to see
the signs of your kingdom
revealed among us,
that we may respond
to the love you show us,
and shine with its light
to brighten the world
and the lives of all people.
Let us not be swayed
from your way.

Day by day, Lord Jesus,
you offer to us yourself,
in the sacrament of
your Body and Blood,
through which you ordained for us
a sign of your solidarity with us
to the end of the age.
As you infuse us
with your own life,
also inspire us
to live out your love
for all.

In the busyness and complexity
of our lives today, Lord Jesus,
keep us focused on you;
on the love by which you save us,
on your presence which never fails us,
on your call to the life you offer us,
on your peace with which you bless us.
Work in us, and through us.

Holy Trinity, God of love,
you pour your love upon us,
and call us to respond
by loving you with all that we are,
and loving our neighbour as ourselves.
Remind us to find our neighbour
among the poor,
the stranger,
the oppressed,
and never only among
those we know.

May we rejoice
in your presence
with us, Lord Jesus,
and be the family
you call us to be,
bridging all divides
that the world seeks to impose,
participating in your work of justice
by lifting the lowly,
filling the hungry,
revealing your mercy,
bringing your peace.
